Abstract

This research has purpose for reviewing more deeply how the representation of a husband who undergo long distance marriage (long distance marriage) and to know the factors that cause of long-distance marriage happen. Type of this research is qualitative with phenomenology approach about what is experienceed by research subject. Primary data source is obtained from interview and observation, secondary data source is obtained from documentation. The subjects of the study were three husbands who underwent long-distance marriages that were at least separated three nights in a week. Commonly, three of informants have no plans and didn't want to undergo a long distance marriage, they admit that there is someting less if the household didn't live under one roof, in live of long-distance marriage outside the city, the informants are required to be independent to meet daily necessities, there are also inevitable conflicts with wives but they can be passed through with regular communication and strong commitment. Factors that cause the occurrence of long-distance marriage there are two things, the first is the micro factor and macro factor. The micro factor is due to the increasing economic required every year. Then the macro factor due to work tasks that can not be determined by the informant himself.
