Abstract

Economic development has a goal to prosper the community, one of which is to expand employment opportunities, one way to achieve that goal is to build an industrial area. In East Java there is an industrial area located in the development area I (GERMAKERTOSUSILA PLUS), so East Java becomes one of the largest contributors to GDP industry sector in Indonesia. To find out if the industry in the development area I East Java is able to provide jobs for the surrounding community so that economic development goals are achieved, then this research was conducted to explain how the influence of Total Industry (X1), Economic Growth (X2), Minimum Wage (X3), and Investment (X4) on the Absorption of Industrial Sector Labor (Y). This study uses panel data with a period of 2013-2018, the analysis tools used are Common Effect, Fixed Effect, and Random Effect with secondary data types. The analysis was conducted with the help of E-views 9 software, the results obtained from the analysis in this study showed that the Number of Industries and Economic Growth has an effect on the Absorption of Industrial Sector Labor in the development area I East Java.
