Abstract

This research is entitled The Role of Sendangmulyo Village Library in Community Creative Economy Development in Sendangmulyo Village Bamboo Craft Center, Minggir, Sleman. This study aims to determine the role of the Sendangmulyo Village Library in the development of the creative economy of the community at the handicraft center in the Brajan Bamboo Craft Tourism Village, Diro. This research is a qualitative research, qualitative research produces descriptive data in the form of words, writings, and the behavior of the people being observed, qualitative research is aimed at describing and analyzing phenomena, events, social activities, attitudes, beliefs, perceptions, and human thoughts individually as well as group. The data were collected by means of careful observation, including descriptions in a detailed context accompanied by notes from in-depth interviews and analysis of other documents. The informants in this study were the bamboo craftsmen community, amounting to 5 people and library staff including the head of the library, the secretary and library manager. The results of this study state that the role of the village library in the development of the creative economy has two roles, namely as a provider of information and knowledge sources for the community, while the second role is the village library as a means of developing the economy and creativity of the community which is supported by collections, services, and activities. held by the village library to the village community Sendangmulyo.
