Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between father involvement and emotional maturity with moral intelligence in late adolescents. This research was conducted in late adolescents aged 17-21 years old who live in Yogyakarta, and had an unmarried status. The sample of this study was 269 of late adolescents who were taken by quota sampling technique. The data were collected using a father involvement scale, an emotional maturity scale, and a moral intelligence scale. The analysis technique used is a statistical analysis of multiple linear regression, and independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between father involvement and emotional maturity with moral intelligence in late adolescents with a significance value of 0,000 (P <0.05). Father involvement and emotional maturity simultaneously make an effective contribution to moral intelligence of 48,9%, while father involvement contributed of 0,6%, and emotional maturity contributed of 48,3% to moral intelligence of late adolescents. In addition, the results showed that there is a significant difference in the level of moral inteligence in late adolescents in terms of gender, that is, female late adolescents tend to have a higher level of moral intelligence than male late adolescents.
