Abstract

A good employability skill can lead to career success in the future. Emotional intelligence and self-concept are two of important factors to support employability skill. This research aims to know if there is a relation between emotional intelligence and self-concept to employability skill of final year undergraduate students in Sleman and Yogyakarta. The subject in this research was 111 students from Yogyakarta and Sleman by using non-probability sampling technique. The data was collected by using the scale of Employability Skill, the scale of Emotional Intelligence and the scale of Self-Concept. The statistical analysis technique used in this research was the multiple linear regression analysis. The result showed that there was a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and self-concept to student’s employability skill. There was also positive correlation between emotional intelligence and employability skill, and between self-concept and employability skill too. The effective contribution given by emotional intelligence and self-concept to the employability skill was 71.4%, with emotional intelligence by 27,4% and self-concept by 44%.
