Abstract

The positive number of Covid-19 in the Special Region of Yogyakarta is relatively high, even though the DIY Government has communicated through content produced by the Instagram account @humasjogja. In addition to carrying out its function as a local government public relations officer, this account also actively encourages followers to implement the COVID-19 health protocol. For this reason, it is interesting to conduct a study to find out the magnitude of the influence of Instagram content on the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol. To answer the problem, Media Dependency Theory is used as the basis of research because it explains that media that can fulfill individual desires can influence their behavior. This study uses a quantitative approach and survey method to 100 followers of the Instagram account @humasjogja. After being analyzed with simple linear regression, there is an effect of 35.9% of Instagram content on the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol and shows a weak level of influence scale.
