Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the implementation of local cultural documentation by the Sega Jabung community of Yogyakarta. This research used qualitative method with a type of case study research. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis in this research used the theory from Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The result of this research are the Sega Jabung community of Yogyakarta has implemented documentation of local culture in the from of “Javanes language and script”, this is evidenced by the process of maintaining and developing Javanes language and script in three divisions in the Sega Jabung community of yogyakarta, namely the training division, development division and preservation division. The management of Javanese script is carried out in the from of collecting and storing information in the form of writing, infographics and videos. The distribution of Javanese characters is carried out in the form of training or workshop with two models, namely online and offline. The preservation of Javanese script is carried out by developing new Javanese script fonts, Javanese script transliteration websites and online Javanese language dictionaries.
