Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher's interest in problems that are considered normal by the community but have a major impact on the future development of the nation, namely the problem of moral crisis, especially in the world of education. This study deals with how schools manage the management of PAI curriculum development programs in the formation of independent character in students at SD Muhammadiyah MBS Prambanan which is located in a rural environment. Management is seen from planning (planning), organizing (organizing), actuating (implementation), and controlling (supervision). This study aims to analyze more deeply about the management of the PAI curriculum development program in forming the character of independence in students at SD Muhammadiyah MBS Prambanan. This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research that takes the subject of SD Muhammadiyah MBS Prambanan. The subjects of this study were school principals, curriculum coordinators, PAI teachers, and randomly selected students. Data collection techniques through observation, documentation, and interviews. The data validity technique used triangulation of sources and techniques. The data analysis technique uses reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the management of the PAI curriculum development program was able to shape the character of the independence of students. This can be seen from the activities of the management function: a) Planning (planning) programs arranged in the vision, mission, school goals, and various programs consisting of annual programs, semester programs, and weekly/daily programs; b) Organizing PAI educators organize and insert efforts to build the character of independence in the PAI curriculum development program through KI, KD, and RPP as guidelines for student learning materials and insert the formation of self-reliance character in self-development programs. c) Actuating (implementation) of the PAI curriculum development program consists of habituation of congregational prayers, thrones (tahsīn and tahfīdz), and character building (character formation) as habituation; d) Controlling (supervision and evaluation) as the achievement of planning, organizing, and implementing through the assessment of the tasmi 'bil ghaib exam, filling in the muttaba'ah yaumiyyah, and assessment of attitudes and skills . The management of the formation of independence is proven through aspects of emotional independence, behavioral independence, value independence, and a diagram of the results of distributing questionnaires on the formation of self-reliance character through the PAI curriculum development program. Supporting factors consist of uniform program, family as a supporter, adequate facilities, and learning media using social media (instagram and youtube). The inhibiting factors consist of a lack of communication between educators, and the concept of unwritten program planning.
