Abstract

Worker/labor is any person who works by receiving wages or other forms of remuneration. The main purpose of workers in work is to earn income in the form of wages as a reward for the results of the energy and thoughts expended. The wage is one of the main factors of an employment agreement, because wages are an important goal for workers to support the welfare of living together with their families. Delays in payment of wages to workers/ laborers are common in companies or small and large business forms.implementation of unwritten work agreements creates obstacles and difficulties for workers/laborers to report and resolve problems regarding late payment of wages to the Manpower and Transmigration. Therefore, the problem that will be discussed in this thesis is regarding legal protection for workers without a written work agreement for late payment of wages/salaries (a case study at the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of the Special Region of Yogyakarta). The type of research used is empirical research, namely research with data in the field as the main data source. This type of research in obtaining data usesfield research, namely through interviews with Industrial Relations Mediator at the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, observation, andlibrary researchthat utilizes materials from library collections related with the main problem. The research conducted in this legal research is analytical descriptive, because it intends to clearly describe various things related to the object under study. The results of the study conclude that: First, the form of legal protection provided by the Office of Manpower and Transmigration to workers/laborers without a written work agreement, namely their legal status, rights and obligations are the same as those of the worker/laborer with a written work agreement in accordance with the regulations. legislation. Second, the efforts made by the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of the Special Region of Yogyakarta to protect the rights of workers/laborers without a written work agreement if there is a delay in the provision of wages/salaries by the entrepreneur, which is given a warning and will be given administrative sanctions.
