Abstract

Facilities and infrastructure are one of the important factors in improving the quality of education. Therefore, facilities and infrastructure need to be managed properly. The Education Laboratory of the Faculty of Islamic Education seeks to manage the Education laboratory so that the infrastructure is able to support the student learning process. The aim of this study was to analyze the management of facilities and infrastructure in the Education laboratory during the Covid-19 pandemic and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in managing infrastructure in the Education laboratory of the Faculty of Islamic Education. This research was conducted at the Education Laboratory of the Faculty of Islamic Education at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This research was descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were interviews, observation and documentation. While the data analysis techniques included transcript, coding, comparing and contrasting, as well as data interpretation. In achieving the validity of the data, the researcher used triangulation of methods and sources. The results showed that: (1) The management of infrastructure in the Education laboratory of the Faculty of Islamic Education included planning, procurement, regulation and use, and elimination. (2) A Supporting Factor in the management of infrastructure facilities was the government policies to provide supporting infrastructure during the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor was the human resources from the Education laboratory who were not quick enough and lack enthusiasm in managing facilities and infrastructure.
