Abstract

The Hallyu Wave or what is commonly called the Korean Wave is a term that refers to the spread of Korean pop culture in various countries. The existence of this wave has triggered many people to learn the language, culture, and follow various artists in the Korean entertainment world. This gave rise to the idea of a game called roleplay or role playing on social media. This game is played by playing yourself as a role of a Korean celebrity persona that is popular among fans. Over time, many roleplay accounts were misused to spread pornographic content. Article 4 paragraph (1) of Law Number 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography, affirms that everyone is prohibited from producing, reproducing, distributing, broadcasting, importing/exporting, offering, trading, or providing pornography. This problem concerns the wider community who currently live side by side with the internet and social media, so it is important to study further about roleplay and its misuse for the spread of pornographic content. The type of research used by the author in this thesis is library research based on primary data sources, such as laws, books, journals, articles, and scientific works related to the research theme. This research is descriptive analytical with a normative juridical approach. As for the results of the study, the authors conclude that roleplay with the NSFW hashtag includes acts against criminal law, several elements of criminal acts that are violated include articles 4-7 and 9 of the pornography law, then the law on information and electronic transactions article 27 paragraph ( 1) in terms of transmitting, distributing and enabling other people to access decency.
