Abstract

The background of this research problem is to see the urgency of using higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in fiqh learning to prepare students to recognize, understand, appreciate, and practice Islamic law, which then becomes the basis for a view of life. Equipping students with higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in the sense of systematic and analytical thinking has a very important role in studying fiqh because students who are accustomed to higher order thinking can avoid stagnation, rigidity, and exclusive thinking in religious understanding. For this reason, further research is needed on how to implement higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in class XII fiqh learning with a contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach at MA Darussalam Maguwoharjo Sleman. The aims of this research are: (1) to describe the implementation of HOTS in class XII fiqh learning with a contextual teaching and learning approach at MA Darussalam Maguwoharjo Sleman. (2) analyze obstacles and solutions to the implementation of HOTS in class XII fiqh learning with a contextual teaching and learning approach at MA Darussalam Maguwoharjo Sleman. This research is a type of field research. For the data collection, researchers used the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. This research approach is a psychological approach. Data analysis researchers conducted data reduction, data presentation, and drew conclusions. The validity of the research data was tested using source triangulation methods and technical triangulation methods. The results showed that: (1) the teacher's Fiqh lesson plan included in the lesson plans levels C-3, C-4 d and C-5 in cognitive processes, while level C-3 (applying) included: exploring and investigating, while level C-4 (analyzing) in the form of linking, and C-5 (evaluating). The implementation of HOTS in class XII Jurisprudence learning at MA Darussalam with a contextual approach through three stages, namely: first, the preliminary stage which includes the teacher preparing students' physical and psychological needs, doing apperception and conveying learning objectives by growing higher order thinking skills (HOTS) abilities; Second, the core stage of Fiqh learning includes the teacher delivering material with HOTS knowledge, using 4C skills and a contextual approach. Third, the closing stage of Fiqh learning includes reflecting on the learning outcomes by summarizing. Evaluation of fiqh learning, namely the assessment of the realm of attitudes, the assessment of the realm of knowledge and the assessment of the realm of skills. (2) Obstacles and solutions for implementing higher order thinking skills (HOTS) for class XII fiqh learning with a CTL approach at MA Darussalam Maguwoharjo Sleman. First, the motivation of students to take part in learning is still lacking, so the teacher provides personal motivation. Second, the limitations of the material book. The alternative solution is that teachers are more innovative in delivering material, and madrasas always coordinate with publishers. then the teacher provides personal motivation.
