Abstract

The development of information technology has put the media industry in a big new order. Conservation activities increasingly need special attention. It can be said, in a digital environment, this preservation activity is absolute, especially considering the very rapid growth of digital products, and the increasingly widespread use of computers in society. In this context, all types of preservation, including digital preservation in libraries, are planned and managed activities to ensure that a digital object (collection) can continue to be used and accessed for as long as possible. In general, this research aims to determine the implementation of digital preservation and the challenges faced in conducting digital preservation by the People's Sovereignty Editor. Based on the results of the study, it can be said that the digital preservation strategies carried out are technology preservation strategies, back up strategies, and migration and reformatting strategies. The challenges faced in implementing digital preservation, namely information in digital form is difficult to survive in the long term, preserved files are exposed to virus and hacker attacks, digital file collections are damaged, and collections of materials are lost digitally.
