Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out, describe and analyze policies, forms, methods and steps for implementing collection development as well as the efforts made by libraries in providing digital collection references at the Kuningan School of Health Sciences Library. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the Kuningan School of Health Sciences Library already had a good collection development policy. The form of collection development developed is print and digital through the developed software, namely eprints which are used for local content and caliber for digital books collection. The form of implementation of collection development is based on the implementation of the collection development policy. Collection development method by conducting community analysis, selection policy, selection, procurement of collections, weeding and evaluation. The collection development steps are carried out by determining the general policy of collection development, determining the authority of the duties and responsibilities of all elements involved in the development, identifying user needs through face-to-face interviews, online form methods, and note-taking methods. Selecting and procuring with the tools of selection of publisher catalogs, online and print publisher websites, master catalogs, curriculum books, academic guides, study learning plans (RPS), maintaining library materials and procuring with purchases, gifts, exchanges, and cooperation, while caring for library materials by covering books before serving, weeding library materials with criteria that have not been circulating for a long time and heavily damaged, evaluating collections by assessing collections through the history of borrowing and returning available on the SliMS software. Efforts to provide collections are carried out, namely there is a policy for developing digital collections, infrastructure must support, socializing about digital collections.
