Abstract

The relationship between children and parents was able in creating happiness. Happiness could affect the child's psychological and development in the future. This study aimed to determine happiness of children with broken home family backgrounds. This study involved three informants. In this study, the researcher used qualitative research method with a phenomenological study approach. The data collection method used by the researcher is interview. The conclusion of this study was the happiness of broken home children also came from themselves, no matter how the environment raised the three informants, they still feel happiness because of themselves. The first conclusion from the results of happiness research on broken home children was from how the three informants accepted their past and were able to get through their past well. A gratitude and leisure in doing things preferred constitute support for the three informants’ happiness. Some factors that influence the informants’ happiness were themselves, the friendship environment and also the family.
