Abstract

This study aims to optimize the quality of services for the computer network of the Ministry of Religion of the Riau Islands Province with the Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) method, so that it can overcome bandwidth problems and improve the quality of throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss which are indicators of a computer network so that services can provide services. community and office needs can be met properly. Optimization testing is done by testing the network using the Wireshark application. The results of optimization testing on the quality of throughput, jitter, delay, and packet loss using the HTB method obtained consecutive values of 51.7%; 58% ; 95.5% ; 0% on the number of packages of 45 Mb. Based on the data from the optimization test, it can be concluded that the quality of throughput, jitter, delay, and packet loss using the HTB method is in the medium, good, and very good categories. This method does not necessarily eliminate problems in network conditions, intervention factors and client position also affect the quality of the wireless network. The HTB method can be concluded that the distribution of the bandwidth load is even, there is an increase in the number of kbps so that the download process becomes better and speeds up the time required for data transmission.
