Abstract

The various editorials of the texts bring out the various meanings of jihad from various perspectives of the scholars. But apart from that these understandings also become socio-religious problems. The rise of terrorism cases in Indonesia and other countries is associated with mandatory orders for jihad for all Muslims in the world. This has sparked hostility for all religious communities from various backgrounds, including a well-known contemporary scholar, Yusuf al-Qaradawi. so that his work appeared with the title Fiqh Al-Jihad: Dirasah Muqaranah li Ahkamihi wa falsafatihi fi Dlaui Al-Qur'ani wa Al-Sunnah. From the book Fiqh Jihad, the author tries to explore the understanding of hadiths about jihad according to Yusuf al-Qaradawi. In this case, the formulation of the problem is how is Yusuf al-Qaradawi's understanding of the hadith about jihad in the book Fiqh Jihad? And what is the relevance of Yusuf al-Qaradawi's understanding of the phenomenon of jihad that occurs in Indonesia? This research is a type of library research by looking for literature studies related to Yusuf al-Qaradawi and his essays, especially those that discuss his views on jihad in the book Fiqh Jihad and his understanding of hadith. Yusuf al-Qaradawi's understanding of hadith jihad uses thematic methods, namely collecting hadith quotations and safely verifying them from reliable sources. The approach used by Yusuf al-Qaradawi in understanding the hadith is the hermeneutic approach. Preaching using today's technology such as social media is an effort to spread Islamic teachings, and also to defend the country's economy, including today's jihad, according to Yusuf al-Qaradawi's meaning of jihad.
