Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the development of the library at MTS nurul ummah, to know the role of the head of madrasah in library development, to know the management of the head of madrasah in library development and the impact of the management of the madrasah in library development. The study uses descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. The theory employed by mulyasa is that the head educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, motivator and motivator. And using the theory of George r. terry that management functions are POAC consists of planning, Organizing, Actuating and Controlling. Research uses data collection done with interviews, observation and documentation. The subject of this study is the head of the madrasah, the head of the library, the librarian, the educator, the teacher involved in library and student activities. Whereas analysis techniques use data reduction, presentation of data and conclusions. Research shows that: (1) the MTS nurul ummah library is still in the development stage, which is the development of human resources by the way the library administrators take seminars or training, the development of collections by way of purchasing, receiving grants, The development of infrastructure through complements of library facilities and creating convenient libraries and information technology improvements through the use of the library's automation system of slim equipped with barcode decoction on books and student cards. (2) the role of the head of madrasah in the development of the library as educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, motivator and motivator (3) the management of madrasah's head in library development is one of the many functions of planning, organizing, Actuating and controlling (4) the management of madrasah in the development of the MTs nurul ummah library affected postif by increasing library visitors and activities-activities accomplished in the library.
