Abstract

The increasingly intense use of internet networks during online lectures raises various kinds of psychological problems, one of which is cyberslacking behavior among students. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and loneliness in cyberslacking behavior in students who take online lectures. The subjects in this study were students from class 2019-2021 with a total of 203 student respondents. The method used in this research is correlational quantitative with a stratified random sampling technique. The data analysis method used in this research is the multiple regression analysis techniques. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between selfcontrol and loneliness toward cyberslacking behavior in college students with p = 0.000 (p <0.05). The first minor hypothesis in this study was accepted, with a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05) with a negative relationship, which means that there is a negative relationship between self-control and cyberslacking behavior. So, the higher the self-control, the lower the Cyberslacking, and vice versa. The second minor hypothesis is accepted with a value of p = 0.014 (p <0.05) with a positive relationship, which means that the higher the loneliness, the higher the Cyberslacking behavior among students. Self-control and loneliness make an effective contribution of 26.4% in influencing Cyberslacking behavior, while the remaining 73.6% are influenced by other factors not disclosed in this study.
