Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing number of internet users in Indonesia, especially among children. Almost all children already own and use gadgets, but there are still many of them who cannot use technology in a positive way. Current technological developments make children have the opportunity to get access to more information. Technology is changing the way children learn, play and interact. Therefore, in this study researchers will utilize technology as a source of learning, namely through coding learning using the scratchJr application to increase children's creativity and linguistic intelligence. The research conducted by the researchers aimed to identify 1) the creative abilities of RA Al-Muttaqin's early childhood using the application of coding learning using the SratchJr application, 2) the linguistic intelligence abilities of early childhood at RA al-Muttaqin using the application of learning coding using the SratchJr application, and 3) is there a difference in learning coding using the scratchJr application on the creativity and linguistic intelligence of early childhood at RA al-Muttaqin Purworejo. This research method uses quantitative research with a quasy experimental approach. The design used in this study is the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study were all of RA Al-Muttaqin's children, totaling 43 children. The samples in this study were 15 children in class B1 and 15 in class B2. The technique for collecting data used observation and documentation sheets. The results showed: (1) The results of the pretest average score for the creative ability variable in the experimental class were 33.00 and the posttest was 47.60. (2) The results of the pretest average score of the linguistic intelligence variable in the experimental class were 21.07 and the posttest was 34.33. (3) There is a significant influence between coding learning using the ScratchJr application on children's creativity, namely a sig.(2 tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05, which means there is a significant value. (4) There is a significant influence between coding learning using the ScratchJr application on children's linguistic intelligence, namely a sig.(2 tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05, meaning that Ha is accepted
