Abstract

PT XYZ is a company in the field of metal casting located in Ceper, Klaten, Central Java. The lathe is the object of this research, because the machine is often damaged in the period January - December 2022 in the production process of EQ Spacing 1360 products. The machine damage caused the production process to be disrupted, resulting in reduced production output. Previously, the measurement of the effectiveness level of the lathe machines found in the company using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method was carried out, resulting in a lathe with the lowest level of effectiveness among the available lathes, namely the CZ 6280 S lathe with an OEE value of 84.67%. Machine maintenance carried out by the company previously by applying corrective maintenance, but there are still problems stemming from machine damage that causes downtime. Therefore, proper maintenance is needed based on the damage that occurs, one of the treatments that can be applied is preventive maintenance with the RCM II decision worksheet and Age Replacement method. The application of these methods is to determine maintenance actions for each critical component and the time interval for replacing critical components according to the specified time in order to minimize machine maintenance costs. Based on this research, the results of the types of maintenance actions and component replacement time intervals were obtained in order. These results were obtained on bearing, v-belt and gear components where the proposed maintenance action is a scheduled discard task at sequential time intervals of 577 hours, 576 hours, and 903 hours. Preventive maintenance actions resulted in cost reductions of 32%, 49%, and 22% for each component of the CZ 6280 S lathe compared to previous maintenance actions.
