Abstract

The meaning of life is the process experienced by individuals to be able to interpret life processes with the aim of developing and self-actualization. The purpose of this research is to find out the dynamics of the meaningful life of someone who has a profession as a wayang uwuh artist. The number of subjects in this study was one person because the wayang uwuh artist profession is a unique profession and only informants are involved in it. The research method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive-narative study approach. Data collection techniques used in this research are in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The analysis technique used in this study is data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The data validation technique in this study used data triangulation consisting of triangulation of sources, techniques, and member checks. The results of this study indicate that the informant's life journey to find the meaning of life begins with the saturation that he has while being a company manager. Then, he chose to leave the success of this position and chose to become an artist who lives in poverty because he is aware that he has potential and talent. When the informant becomes a wayang uwuh artist, he finds and realizes the meaning of life by benefiting culture, the environment and many people.
