Abstract

Waste is any form of production activity that does not provide added value to either the production process or the resulting product. CV Dwi Manunggal is a maklon company, which produces beauty drinks, health drinks, coffee, and bland drinks. The purpose of this study is to identify waste that occurs at CV Dwi Manunggal and provide appropriate improvement recommendations. This research was conducted on the production process using the Lean Six Sigma method with the DMAIC stage. The tools used are Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA. The Lean Six Sigma method is a method that aims to minimize waste, smooth the flow of materials, products and information, and continuous improvement through increased speed and accuracy. Based on the results of the analysis of 7 wastes in the production process at CV Dwi Manunggal, there are four types of waste that have the potential to hamper production activities, namely Defect waste due to defective products, Waiting, which is the process of waiting for machine setup and breakdown, Excess Processing, which is the process of repairing defective products, and Transportation, which is the length of the material flow process. Proposed improvements are given to 3 types of waste with RPN values above the critical value in the FMEA table. Proposed improvements to waiting waste are providing training to operators and making step by step machine usage posted on each machine and conduct regular maintenance with experts. Proposed improvements to defect waste are by setting an equalized operator work schedule. The proposed improvement for transportation waste is to provide tools for transporting materials such as trolleys to reduce the burden on workers from carrying heavy loads repeatedly.
