Abstract

This thesis is titled “Pesan Kasih Sayang Pada Lirik Someone Somewhere (Analisa Semiotika Pada Lagu Band Asking Alexandria)". This research aims to find out the message of love contained in the lyrics of the song. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. While the analysis technique used to dissect the signs found in each verse of this song is Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic analysis technique with the concept of signifier & signified. By using Ferdinand de Saussure's analysis technique in this study, the researcher can get the result that the meaning contained in each verse of Someone Somewhere 's song lyrics contains a message of love addressed to the closest people of the songwriter. In addition, the lyrics of this song show that various forms of affection can have a very meaningful impact on an individual.
