Abstract

The development of information technology creates a variety of communication facilities that function to convey and receive messages, one of which is film. Movies have become one of the favorite pastimes for many people. But not only as entertainment, films also have other roles such as informative and educational roles. One of the educative roles of the film is religious education, which contains da'wah messages in it. This study aims to find out how the message of da'wah contained in the film Mengejar Surga. This research uses Teun A Van Dijk's discourse analysis model with qualitative methods that are descriptive analysis, namely research that describes da'wah messages in the dialogue of the film Mengejar Surga objectively and in detail. The data obtained is in the form of words or dialogues and images from the film Mengejar Surga. Based on the results of the study, in the film Mengejar Surga there are nine da'wah messages which are categorized into three parts, namely the message of sharia da'wah, creed, and morals. The details of the discussion in this film are about marriage which is mentioned 18 times. In addition, the film Mengejar Surga is an entertainment film that is packed with da'wah values in it.
