Abstract

Ora aji Islmaic Boarding School is semi- modern based Islamic boarding school, which stands in the midset of a plural society that has a diversity of cultural and religious aspecst. The student at the Ora Aji boarding school consist of students from MTs, MA, UIN Sunan Kalijaga and UNY students, and there are even some students who only surve in the Islamic boarding school. The existance of Islamic boarding school in the community encourages kyai and students of the Ora Aji Islamic boarding school to relate to the community. However, not all relationships that exist between the two are good. This research was conducted to find out the integration that exist between the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School and the Purwomartani Community. Especially Padukuhan Tundan so that they are able to live side by side amidst differences. this research is descriptive qualitative in nature, which aims to describe the relationship or social integration that exist between the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School and the community. The data sources for this research were obtained from several informants, consisting of caretakers of the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School, secretary of the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School foundation, chairman of padukuhan Tundan, Head of RW padukuhan Tundan, Head of RT padukuhan Tundan, administrators of Islamic Boarding School social activities, and several students. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study is descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the integration that exist is in the form of Normative Integration, which is based on social norms or values shared by both parties, both the boarding school and the community through a process of acommodation, cooperation, coordination, and assimilation. As carred out such as Mujahadah Dzikrul Ghofiliin, safari subuh, mutual cooperation and other social activities. In addition, the supporting factors for the formation of this integration are the contributions and relationship that are established in the form of social activites with the community, while the inhibiting factor is the lack of human resources becouse students are not always in Islamic boarding school.
