Abstract

The position of women in Islam is very important. This is because there is an assumption that women are weak and inferior to men. With regard to women, Ustadzah Halimah Alaydrus discussed the discourse on the position of women in an Islamic view, namely through the Instagram account @halimahalaydrus. This study examines how the position of women is seen from the text dimension? How is the position of women seen from the dimension of social cognition? How is the position of women seen fr om the social dimension? The purpose of this study was to determine the position of women in the Instagram account "@halimahalaydrus about women" from the dimensions of text, social cognition, and social context. Then the benefits of this research are a positive contribution to scientific development and increase knowledge for academics, practitioners and all levels of society. This study uses a qualitative research approach with critical discourse analysis research methods. The research object is women in Islam in the analysis of posts on the Instagram account @halimahalaydrus, which are then analyzed using the Teun A.Van Dijk model which explores text, social thought and social context. Based on the results of research on women in Islam on the Instagram account @halimahalaydrus, Judging from the dimensions of the text analysis, women in Islam must be understood as part and representation of the text involved in producing meaning about women. Choosing to develop a portrait of women in Islam is an important step towards better gender equality, correct understanding of religion, and empowering women in society. This helps create an inclusive, harmonious and equitable environment for all members of society regardless of gender In terms of social cognition, Islamic teachings provide full recognition of women's rights, increase women's self-worth, and provide equal protection for women and men in the aspect of security and safety.
