Abstract

Early adulthood is a period of adaptation of a person to new forms of life and social expectations accompanied by feelings of anxiety, emotional tension and fear for their lives. Various pressures experienced by students who memorize the Qur’an as young adults can lead to excessive negative feelings or unhappiness. This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and spirituality with the happiness of students memorizing the Qur’an. The method used in this research is correlational quantitative. Subjects who participated were 117 students who memorized the Qur’an with details of 40 people from PPTQ Al-Hadi komplek Al-Hamra', 33 people from the komplek Madrasah Huffadz 1 PP. Almunawwir, and 44 people from the komplek Aisyah PP. Nurul Ummah was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The three measuring instruments used are adoption scales. Data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis with the results of hypothesis testing showing that there is a positive relationship between social support and spirituality with the happiness of students memorizing the Qur’an. This is indicated by a significance value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05), so the major hypothesis in this study is proven. While the results of the partial test showed that both social support and spirituality obtained a significance value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). This shows that social support and spirituality each have a positive relationship with the happiness of students memorizing the Qur’an. Therefore, the first minor hypothesis and the second minor hypothesis are proven. The effective contribution (SE) of social support is 27.6% and spirituality is 22.1%, so that the two independent variables influence happiness by 49.7%. This research can represent the happiness of students who memorize the Qur’an, so that the results of this study can be used as an evaluation, both for the pesantren, sources of social support and students who memorize the Qur’an itself.
