Abstract

The background of this research is the importance of preserving religious activities in Islamic boarding schools as a tradition that is carried out continuously and continuously. This is considering that nowadays religious activities in Islamic boarding schools are no longer in demand by many people, because someone lacks confidence and believes in the values contained in these religious activities. In fact, if you look at the lessons learned from religious activities in Islamic boarding schools, there are many. One of them is as a learning medium in an effort to get closer to Allah SWT. The objectives of this study are 1) To find out the implementation of religious traditions as learning media at the Nurul Ummah Islamic Boarding School. 2) To find out the impact of religious traditions as learning media at the Nurul Ummah Islamic Boarding School. This research is a qualitative research by taking the research subjects as the Chairperson of the Nurul Ummah Islamic Boarding School, the Nurul Ummah Islamic Boarding School Board, the Administrators/Asatidz of the Nurul Ummah Islamic Boarding School, and the Santri of the Nurul Ummah Islamic Boarding School. The research object lies in the urgency of religious tradition as a learning medium for students. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation, and documentation methods. Researchers in data analysis techniques use data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The results of the study show that: 1) The religious traditions studied by researchers are mujahadah, tahlilan, prayer, and haul, 2) The implementation of religious traditions at the Nurul Ummah Islamic Boarding School requires a medium that is used as an intermediary in the learning process. 3) The benefits of learning media in religious traditions are as learning about discipline, piety, honesty, self-awareness, responsibility, and empathy. Then there are strategic steps in implementing religious traditions as learning media, namely by habituation, supervision, and evaluation.
