Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of digital media literacy on awareness of COVID-19 vaccination. This study uses a quantitative method with the nature of explanatory research. This research was conducted among the elderly in Canden Village, Jetis, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The population in this study amounted to 5,372 elderly with 98 elderly as samples which were taken using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation techniques, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Test the validity of the instrument using the Pearson Product Moment correlation coefficient formula and test the reliability of the instrument using the Alpha Cronbact formula. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression analysis with the classical assumption test as a condition for conducting data analysis. The results of the analysis show that the highest percentage is 81.12%, namely the indicator of understanding and knowledge about the surrounding environment. The lowest percentage is 64.66%, namely the audience indicator. The results of the simple linear regression test show that the effective contribution of digital media literacy to awareness of COVID-19 vaccination is 69.1%, the remaining 100% -69.1% = 30.9% is explained by other variables or factors. The significance value is 0.000 (P <0.050). These results indicate that there is a positive influence between knowledge of digital media literacy on awareness of COVID-19 vaccination among the elderly at Dea Canden, Jetis, Bantul, Yogyakarta in 2021.
