Abstract

Research on the development of people's economic potential in religious tomb tourism Sunan Ampel is an attempt to reveal the economic development of the community around Ampel in the economic fulfillment of tourist visits to the tomb of Sunan Ampel. The main problem of this research is why Sunan Ampel's religious tourism has an impact on the economy of the local community. Sunan Ampel's tomb religious tourism is a place community in meeting their spiritual needs. Sunan Ampel's religious tourism is not only identical to the tomb of Sunan Ampel and the buried figures. During the visit Pilgrims who initially only prayed for the late Sunan Ampel turned out to have an economic breakthrough for the local community. Many visitors are saved that the tomb of Sunan Ampel has economic potential for the community to meet their needs. This economic history research is analyzed with economic and sociological approaches, in line with the context of the socio-economic development of the community from trade in tourism to Sunan Ampel's religion. The concept and theory used are the Granovetter Social Network. This research was conducted with the stages of historical research methods oriented to sources The main research is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical field study technique. Here is the steps author: 1). Heuristics on primary and secondary sources, 2). Source verification or criticism history, to obtain the validity of historical source data, 3). Interpretation is done to historical facts in the whole series of discussions, 4 ). Historiography is a stage of systematic and descriptive-analytical writing of history in a historical chronological frame that is diachronic. The results of this study indicate that; First, pilgrims visiting tours Sunan Ampel's religion basically carry out their spiritual activities, namely pilgrimages. People attraction is more inclined to the tomb of Sunan Ampel to pray and visit other sites. Second, the development of community trade is growing very rapidly. Before they set up a stall, they were found to be working as workers. Then they opened their own business stall on the new access road, Ampel Masjid. When Ampel became a tourist destination, trade in Ampel Masjid was very high. The outside community began to arrive and the results of trading people's financial needs were very well met. Third, Sunan Ampel's religious tourism is influenced by the image that a location is a place that was once the center of the spread of the religion Islam by Sunan Ampel. The tomb of Sunan Ampel and his students is an important point in attracting pilgrims to come. The pilgrim's visit will cause social interaction among pilgrims and visitors thereby creating social network ties. The social network that occurs will create a sense of trust from visitors to the site traders in buying souvenirs from visits to the tomb of Sunan Ampel.
