Abstract

This study discusses the stages of talent interest guidance in increasing career exploration in persons with intellectual disabilities through existing guidance programs at the Mother's Wing III Yogyakarta Orphanage. With the guidance applied through various skills taught to persons with intellectual disabilities, it can be considered that the guidance is able to accommodate their talent interests. On the other hand, people with disabilities. With the limitations they have, they also have the right to explore their careers in order to be able to live independently, work and develop themselves. This study aims to determine the stages of talent interest guidance in increasing career exploration in persons with intellectual disabilities at Panti Sayap Ibu III Yogyakarta. This research uses a qualitative field research approach whose data analysis is described descriptively. The results of this study are the stages of talent interest guidance in increasing career exploration at Panti Sayap Ibu III Yogyakarta consists of three stages. .First, the planning stage, in the form of assessments, observations, and interviews conducted by the orphanage administrators to the fostered residents with the aim of knowing the potential interests and talents they have. Second, the implementation stage, in the form of implementing an interest-talent guidance program derived from the results of the assessment, which aims to be a place to develop the interests of the talents they have and ultimately be able to determine the career they want to choose for the independence of the fostered residents. Third, the evaluation stage, in the form of a review of the talent interest guidance program, both from obstacles, the extent of progress achieved, and measuring how efficient talent interest guidance is in helping to improve career exploration for people with intellectual disabilities at Panti Sayap Ibu III Yogyakarta.
