Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain how counselors assist in love matters for the blind, which can be seen through a study of the experiences and methods of assistance provided by counselors in love matters for the blind at PSBN "Tuah Sakato" Padang. There were two data collection techniques used: the first was observation carried out on counselor assistance in love matters for the visually impaired. secondly, through interviews with 7 informants divided into 3 groups, namely: counselors, social workers and PM alumni. This research was conducted at PSBN "Tuah Sakato" Padang. The results of the research are 1) The experiences of counselors and social workers in providing assistance with love problems vary. There are various ways for PMs to find a partner, namely by establishing romantic relationships with fellow PMs, establishing relationships with PM alumni, looking for partners through the Pertuni WhatsApp group, and through matchmaking applications. In the PSBN during the education period you are not allowed to marry even though you are fit to be married, this causes assistance in finding a life partner to be absent from the PSBN program, the assistance provided focuses on love problems (dating, infidelity, false hopes, lack of clarity, religious differences, anxiety, etc.) getting a partner, suicidal thoughts, etc.), physical and mental guidance, social and skills. 2) Assistance is carried out using counseling, supervision, consultation, learning and information methods. The challenge in the mentoring process is that unmarried counselors or social workers when providing PM assistance think it is a feeling of attention and love.
