Abstract

The growth of Islamic boarding schools will continue to experience challenges due to the increasing development of civilization. Islamic boarding schools, which previously focused on traditionalism between kyai and santri, are slowly embracing modernization. The modernization of Islamic boarding schools in Santri Weekend activities with an activity period of three days on weekends is something interesting to study regarding its influence on the religious behavior of santri. Based on the context above, this research aims to determine the influence of group dynamics and communication intensity of the Santri Weekend program on religious attitudes at the Ar-Raudhah Islamic Boarding School, Surakarta. The theories used in this research are George C. Homans' social exchange theory, DeVito's communication intensity and changes in Jalaluddin Rakhmat's religious attitudes. The research method is a quantitative approach, with a survey method where data collection techniques use questionnaires. The total population in this study was 200 people, where the sampling technique used the Stratified Random Sampling technique with the Isaac & Michael formula with an error rate of 5%, so that the sample used was 127 people divided by gender and age. Data analysis used Multiple Linear Regression analysis with a t test (partial) X1 of 0.000 and X2 of 0.000 and an F test (simultaneous) of 0.000. Based on calculations from the t test, it shows that the variabel Meanwhile, Furthermore, the F test results show that simultaneously the significance value is 0.000 (0.000 < 0.05). The adjusted R square value was obtained at 0.556 or 55.6%. Meanwhile, the remainder, namely 54.4%, religious attitudes are influenced by other unobserved variabel. Based on regression analysis, the regression equation model for this research is Y = 6.116 + 0.743X1 + 0.878X2.
