Abstract

The presence of vegetation in a landscape has a main function as an ecological, aesthetic and socio-economic function. Its existence also has a positive impact on the balance of the ecosystem, especially in the Landfill Area (TPA). Waste generation in the Piyungan landfill has a negative impact on the surrounding environment such as air pollution, water pollution, and sources of disease. Optimizing land use and improving the quality of life of the community around the Piyungan landfill needs to be done. Therefore, vegetation analysis is important to see the dominating vegetation and its ecological role in the Piyungan landfill area. Data collection of vegetation research using Point Centered Quarter Method (PCQM). The analysis used in the form of density, dominance, frequency, Important Value Index (INP) and Shanon-Wienner Diversity Index (H'). The results of the study, obtained vegetation diversity in the Piyungan Landfill Area found as many as 13 plant species which are included in 6 families. The highest importance value index (INP) of vegetation at stations A and B is Tectona grandis by 100.14% and Swietenia mahagoni by 104.07%. The Shannon-Wienner Diversity Index (H') at station A was 1.75 and at station B was 1.79. Both values based on the determination of the value of the Shannon-Wienner Diversity Index are included in the medium category.
