Abstract

Distribution is one of the important aspects for the company. Because if the distribution of raw materials is hampered, it also inhibited the production company. Besides, the cost of distribution is a non greatest added value for the company. Even distribution costs can exceed the cost of production. Therefore, it is important for companies to be able to minimize the cost of raw materials and distribution of finished product. To minimize the cost of distribution we can analyze from several aspects such as the selection of the appropriate mode of transportation and distribution of goods route selection. This study aims to analyze the multimodal transportation network in the distribution process at PT LMN. From the results of this analysis can be generated selection of the best mode of transportation for the company and also the determination of the distribution route with the smallest cost. So the cost of distribution of firms can be reduced which will ultimately impact on increasing the profit of the company. In this distribution network analysis researchers used mathematical calculations and model simulations. From the results of mathematical calculations and the results obtained by the simulation models that best mode of transportation for the PT. LMN is a railway transportation, the average rail needs in 1 month by 16 trains with cost of distribution Rp. 2,184,800,000.00. Keyword: Transportation, Distribution, Simulation, Logistic
