Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the use of science laboratory that based on curriculum SMP Negeri 1 Kajoran Kabupaten Magelang in 2012/2013. The usage of science laboratory was limited by the facilities and infrastructure of science laboratory was based on Permendiknas No. 24 tahun 2007 and the implementation of the physical science laboratory activities was based on school’s curriculum: vision, mission, and school’s goal. This research is evaluative research, using the approach of the qualitative and quantiative. The subjects were documentation, science’s teachers and all students of class VII B of the school year 2012/2013. Data was collected through interviews, observation, documentation, and the value scale. Qualitative data were analyzed that includes three activities: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. While quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics quantitative. The analysis of observation, interviews, and documentation showed that the facilities and infrastructure of science laboratory as a support of the physical science laboratory activities into the category of very match suitability persentage with all standard of Permendiknas No. 24 tahun 2007 about the facilities and infrastructure of science laboratory was 86,37%. The analysis of observation and the value scale were students in the field when the physical science laboratory activities show that demonstrate practical implementation of physical science into the category of very match, with suitability presentage to vision, mission, and goal of SMP Negeri 1 Kajoran Kabupaten Magelang was 81,63%.
