Abstract

Film is one ofliterary work that has an aestetic value. The development of film also fast. There are many films that have released in a year. This paper analyses Chronicle film. Chronicleis a science-fiction film that releasedon 3rd February,2012. This film tells about three guys who have a telecinetic power. They get the power from a strange thing inside a ground. This paper focuses on Andrew Detmer’s anxiety. Andrrew is the main character in the film. In the analysing the writer try to find the signal of anxiety, the cause, and the effect of anxiety. The kind of this analysis is qualitative research doing by library research. It uses a book that related on the subject. The analysis is done by reading in detail. The writer uses a script as a main source and the film as a documentation. This research uses theoryy from Sigmund Freud and Theory of Anxiety. There are thirty eight signals of anxiety. There are five signals of anxiety that can be found in Chronicle. Those five signals of Andrew’s anxiety are, being afraid of publict, being afraid of losing control, being obsessed of getting better, being alone, and feeling depressed. The cause of his anxiety is by having the bad environment. The environment here are his father and his friends. They always give him a bad threatment. The effect of his anxiety is affected his self and his environment. He becomes someone who like to be alone and easy to lose his control. For his environment, he becomes someone who wants to do revenge to people who ever hurt him.
