Abstract

The production process is a series of processes to create a raw materials into finished products. In the production process often does not go well and resulted in a defective product. One factor is the use of a disability is not good, or not in accordance with standard tools. Therefore, a device must have a reliability of production to produce goods properly without having to cause disability. In this research, the creation of design tools coil plate hook. This tool is a tool to lift the rolled plate and the pair on the machine spindle for processing. Coil plate hook is designed to replace the use of steel rope in the appointment process for the rolled plate steel strap can cause a dent on the side of the plate deformed by the pressure of the roll plate itself. By making a hook design that has a curved contour, where the design adjusts to the contours of the roll plate that has a radius of 25cm, then the hook to keep the plate from the defect of being able to withstand and equalize the pressure on the side of the plate. Because the plate has raised a heavy load, then the design is made using alloy steel material that has a tensile resistance up to 2500 MN / m². In the process of design, safety testing has been done by simulating the load resistance to ensure that the design is made capable of receiving the load plate rolls. From the simulation results, the design is declared safe for being able to withstand the load plate rolls.
