Abstract

This study discusses the factors that encourage students in the use of books in library collection of MAN WONOKROMO BANTUL. The aim is to determine the factors that encourage in the use of books in library collection of MAN Wonokromo Bantul. The research use descriptive quantitative method with research subject are all users of the library or student of MAN Wonokromo Bantul.Data collection techniques used in this study observation , documentation and questionnaires . The results of this study are the factors that encourage students to take advantage of the collection of books in the Library MAN Wonokromo Bantul included in both categories . The details are as follows : The total mean score of 3.35 on the internal factors , the indicators of user needs an average score of 3.32 . Indicators motifs users an average score of 3.33 . Indicators of user interest in an average score of 3.4 . The highest average score of user interest ( students find reading a novel as you wish ) of 3.5 and the lowest mean score is the aspect of user needs ( can be helped with homework in the library collection ) of 3.16 . The total mean score of 3.18 to external factors , the indicator Completeness 3.27 Library collection . Indicators librarian skills in serving users at 2.92 . Indicator of the availability of information retrieval 3.36 . The highest average score of the availability of facilities at the aspect of information retrieval ( in my collection always do a search using the OPAC ) of 3.48 and the lowest score of ata that is specific to the skills of librarians serving users on the aspect ( librarians can provide solutions and information in accordance with the requirements users ) of 2.77 . However, in order to better utilize the student books in the school library is expected to continue to encourage their students to utilize and improve the library.
