Abstract

Steganography is a something knowlegde that learn hiding information or message technique into a carrier file (media) such as pictures, sounds and video, with the result that information (data) is hidden and hard to be recognized by human senses. MP3 audio files are not only popular but also can be used as a medium for steganography. As the result from the above description, research is going to be developed into an android-based application platform, because the android platform is currently the most widely used in mobile phones in the world. This application is limited only to input the MP3 files, not be used to play MP3 files. In this research we used LSB (Least Significant Bit) steganography method implemented on the MP3 file. In the process, message is inserted in low bit or most bit on the right to any allowed MP3 frequency, so that it will be difficult for those who try to break unless he has access to such of data.In this research, The methods we used in developing applications is the waterfall method. The results showed that the resulting MP3 encoding process did not change MP3 filesize, because the message only inserted by replacing the last bit of the MP3, not added to the MP3. The message is not so give take effect because of the results of the test showed there was no difference significant time in processing time encode when the input message have different length.
