Abstract

Researcher discusses about the usc of E-book as learning source among students in Al-Luqmaniyyah Yogyakaria. This research aims to describe the use of E-book as learning source among santri Al-Luqmaniyyah Yogyakarta. This thesis uses qualitative descriptive method with subject of research all the students of Al-Luqmaniyyah while the object of this research is utilization of e-book as learning resources. Data collection techniques used in the research are observation, interview, documentation and trangulation. While interviewing techniques used are in-depth interviews and produce 20 informants consisting of two persons from education council and 18 students with snowball sampling technique since the population of Al-Luqmaniyyah are homogeneous. Based on the result, the researcher concludes that students utilize e-book as learning resource for several reasons such as search of ibarat, increase knowledge, to catch up and do the tasks. Students do not use e-book as a primary learning source but they still refer to the original book as a form of regor. Afterwards, the factors that influence students of Al-Luqmaniyyah in utilizing e-book as learning source are intemal factors and external factors. Intemal factor consists of needs, motives, and interests while external factor includes the freedom of students in using communication and electronic devices such as laptop, smartphone, ipad etc. Thus, students have such media to utilize e-book as well as the advances in technology that allows students to access and get e-book the need and they want. o
