Abstract

A set of type K thermocouple-based cooking oil temperature measurement system had been successfully built. This measurement system was capable to measure the temperature of the cooking oil displayed on the LCD. A characterization was then performed on the measurement system built in order to make it feasible to be used as a cooking oil temperature measurement device. The characterization was performed statically, including; the linearity, the sensitivity, the repeatability. The measurement result was displayed by the LCD in degree Celsius (C0). The designing of this measurement system used ATmega8 microcontroller as the controller of the input and output signal system. The data acquisition result of the system characterization obtained shows that the measurement system has linearity with the correlation value between the variables at R2= 0.99; the sensitivity value at 0.0095 V/0C; the repeatability error at 1.7 %; the accuracy at 98% and the precision at 98 %.
