Abstract

This research aims to know user’s perception toward librarian in the fulfillment of the demands of information needs at library of SMK Negeri 1 Bantul. This research is survey research with descriptive-quantitative approach. Population in this research comes from students and teachers with total of 1399. From that population, samples which are taken through Yamane formula are 93 respondents. Purposive sampling is used for taking the samples. This research has single variable, which is user’s perception toward librarian in the fulfillment of the demands of information needs. Questionnaire, interview, and observation are used for data collection techniques. The validity test uses Product Moment formula and the reliability test uses Alpha Cronbach formula with the help of SPSS 16 for Windows’ software. The data analysis uses Mean and Grand Mean formulas. Based on this research, the acquired result is 3, 14. The mentioned number indicates that user’s perception toward librarian in the fulfillment of the demands of information needs in library of SMK Negeri 1 Bantul is in good categorized. This research is expected to be able to give suggestion to library of SMK Negeri 1 Bantul to provide special form about the demands of information needs and add more collections for the sake of fulfill users’ information needs.
