Abstract

The school library is a place to manage and gather information that supports the achievement of educational goals of the school as well as a means of learning and teaching fun. Relation to the means of learning and teaching fun, libraries need to procure collections are recreational as fiction books for motivation to read and increases the motivation to learn. Issues that will be discussed in this final project is to know how to procurement fiction collection in the library of SMP Negeri 5 Yogyakarta as well as any obstacles encountered in the procurement of fiction collection in the Library of SMPN 5 Yogyakarta. This research was carried out by means of direct observation to study sites, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the study authors at the Library of SMPN 5 Yogyakarta is known collections include fiction fiction of old and new fiction. Long fiction includes humorous stories, fables, legends, saga. While the new fiction includes short stories and novels. Fiction Collection procurement done by way of purchase and contribution of students and teachers. Procurement collection of fiction that is not in accordance with the age of the students and the procurement of which is only conducted once a year as well as the limited availability of collection of fiction in bookstores become bottlenecks in procurement.
