Abstract

The study, entitled "Evaluation of Quality of Service Information Literacy at the Library of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta" aims to determine how the quality of the information literacy services at the library of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This study included a quantitative descriptive research. The population in this study were students of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, which has been following the activities of information literacy totaling 16,400. The sampling technique was performed using accidental sampling method. The sample in this study amounted to 99 people. The instrument used to collect data in the form of a questionnaire. Test the validity of the instrument in this study using the product moment formula and instrument reliability test using Cronbach’s Alpha formula. The data is done using SPSS version 16 for Windows. Analysis of data using arithmetic calculations using formulas mean and grand mean. Results of the data analysis showed that the quality of library information literacy services at the library of University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta categorized as very high, as evidenced by the value of the grand mean of 3,326 with the average value of the highest of 3.375 of an indicator of reliability. Meanwhile, the lowest result that is 3.265 of indicators using the information for a particular purpose. Therefore, it can be concluded that the limitations of time and space causes the service pemustaka less steeped in and master method that has been submitted information literacy tutor information literacy services. So, to improve service quality information literacy, library literacy services should provide information counter inside the parent library building in order to service more optimal in providing services, so pemustaka can more easily deepen method to support information literacy learning activities.
