Abstract
The research’s purpose is to formulate how the role of librarian in film "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore". The methods used in this research is descriptive qualitative study, using approaches to semiotic. Technique of data collection was document using scenes in film and technique triangulation. While technique of data analysis was done by watching, recording, and analyzing images, scene-scene, and interactions between the roles in the film. As for the processing of the data using the method of semiotics by Roland Barthes. The results of this research show that the representation of the role of the librarian in the film is the role of the librarian as a manager, supervisor, educator, preservator, and restorator.
