Abstract

This research aims to explain Interpersonal Communication in Students Difable (Qualitative Descriptive Study At Deaf Art Students In Deaf Art Community (DAC) Yogyakarta). This research is a qualitative descriptive that is done directly to the object under study to obtain the required data and related to the formulation of the problem. Data collection in this research is done by using interview, observation, and documentation, and data analysis using descriptive qualitative. The result of this research is interpersonal communication or dyadic communication occurs in interaction, dialogue and interview always used by deaf students. Interaction occurs such as: deaf students in the class do not understand the lecture material presented by the lecturer, the dialogue on the class discussion when asking the lecture material that is not understood to my friends chairmate, and interview is a process of communication that occurs in the classroom environment such as communicating using written language, Sign language with my friends or other classmates. Small group communication occurs during the communication process used in the campus or DAC community. This communication takes place between three or more people face-to-face. Deaf students certainly communicate using sign language, and deaf students prioritize their courses because with college can provide an opportunity for deaf students to develop the abilities that exist in him, and with college can get many benefits. Key word: interpersonal communication, students with disabilities, DAC.
