Abstract

Number of pregnant women’s death is still the biggest issues in Indonesia. Pregnant women sometimes experience health problems during their pregnancy, pregnant women tend to experience symptoms different from normal pregnancies experienced by pregnant women. Meanwhile, the risk of death for them are getting higher due to delay factors, such as delay to know the danger, too late to make a decision, and to reach the health facility when it is emergency, and also to obtain the adequate services from the health workers. In the field of health, there is an artificial aptness called Expert System. It is a computer system that uses knowledge, fact, and reasoning technique in problem solving that is usually solved by an expert in his field/area. This research uses Certainty Factor , parallel Certainty Factor method and forward chaining inference tracing method. The aim of this research is to help a pregnant mother diagnose any disease during pregnancy without the need to meet an expert. The data includes symptom, disease/illness, and solution in its working. System testing shows that the system is able to diagnose the disease while pregnancy based on symptoms suffered by the user. This research involves 12 respondents, consisting of a diverse and widely variant group of people, in order to do the trial system. For the interface and access system, the results are 56,7% strongly agree, 40% agree, and 3,3% neutral. Meanwhile for the functional system, 99% users say that the system has run well. When tested with two people consisting of the knowledge engineers and the experts, 90% are strongly agree, and 10% are agree for the interface and access system, while for the functional system, they are 100% user agree that the system works well but the remaining 1% are not. The accuracy for the diagnostic system and doctor’s diagnosis test results is 76,7%.
