Abstract

The data processing on the inventory accounting in KK Comics Yogyakarta in General still performed conventionally with handwritten in ledgers. It also results in the process of booking can only be made in the workplace only. In addition, data access be limited i.e. only at the workplace with an inflexible storage and takes up more storage space in a room. In management, a web-based book rental application makes it easy for employees or owners in managing their assets or manage existing transactions. This research uses data books and comics that originated in a KK Comic book collection is accessed directly through the store's bookkeeping. The development method used in this research is a method of Extreme Programming. This method consists of the stages of the planning, design, coding, and testing. This research resulted in two cycles of development. On the first cycle, the development focuses on the suitability of the application based on the needs of the project owner. At this stage there are three request addition features of project owner and a correction in the change process of calculation taking into account the new features that will be implemented. Then in the second cycle, the development focuses on the correction results obtained in the first cycle. At this stage of the development process ended with no correction of the project owner. Design and development of Web-Based Book Rental Application using Extreme Programing Method has been successfully cirried out. Book rental application are able to assist KK Comic in the management of book, transactions, reports, and monitoring the quality of the book which can be done anytime.
